The plant prefers mild weather and usually gives its best show before intense summer heat arrives.

Prepare, sow, and press.
Broadcast onto prepared soil, cover only very lightly (about 1/8 inch), press for seed-to-soil contact, and keep evenly moist through germination. Avoid burying the small seed deeply.
